Sony Vaio Vpcx131Kx -- light and slim, you might not even know it is there! Intuitive, fun to use, faster and more efficient, it enables you to enjoy a new kind of computing freedom. Now, your friends, your news, and your entertainment is when you need it, where you need it! This ultra movable mini laptop surprised us with its small size - 10.95 x 0.55 x 7.29 - and weight - less than 1.6 lbs -, passing all our tests quite easily. Its natural, elegant lines complement the Sony Vaio Vpcx131Kx's popular ,favorite design. But let's see its hardware configuration and how it behaves when put to some resource arduous tests.
As usual, we will start with the central processing unit, or Cpu as it is otherwise know. An Intel Atom Z550 processor is able to furnish more than adequate power to pass the tests. It works at a clock speed of 2.00 Ghz, an L2 cache of 512 kB, and on a Front Side Bus (Fsb) or 533 Mhz. Although a small less noteworthy than some of its competitors' central processing units, this processor is quite versatile and capable of most multi-tasking applications you can think of. Next, although we loved the Pata solid state drive (Ssd) technology, we wholly disliked the small, 64 Gb drive. We can barely fit our movies in there, so Sony Vaio Vpcx131Kx receives only 5 points out of a maximum or 10 here.
Laptop Ssd
Another thing we did not like is the 2 Gb (2 Gb x 1) Ddr2 Ram working at just 533 Mhz. Although capable of doing its job, we feel that the frequency is quite low and, taking into observation that 2 Gb is the maximum number of Ram we can have on this ultra movable laptop, we give it a 7 out of to 10 rating. The suitable movable Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 500 is a fair integrated video card. It could have been better, but taking into observation Sony Vaio Vpcx131Kx's small size, we feel it is good adequate for most users. We give it 8 out of 10 points as it manages to production very good image quality to the backlid Led techonogy 11.1 inch display at a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels.
The Sony Vaio Vpcx131Kx has some thoughprovoking and very useful features, most renowned being the Verizon Wireless movable Broadband, Memory Stick Duo media slot with MagicGate functionality, Intel High Definition Audio system, and electro-static touchpad with multi-finger support.
